Philadelphia Sketch Club Exhibition draws on 150 years of history
November 7 - December 13, 2009

As a member of the oldest artist's club in America, I wanted to share the news of this remarkable collection of paintings on display at our club at 235 Camac Street, Philadelphia. You will see every master painter who ever belonged to the club over its 150 year history.
Thomas Eakins, Edward Redfield, Daniel Garber, N.C. Wyeth, Walter Baum, and my own great-grand Uncle, Fred Wagner, are just a few who have work in the exhibition.
It is as good as any traveling museum show out there. And it's free.

Recently, I opened a You Tube Channel. You can "subscribe" (for free) and you will get an email everytime I put something new up.
Right now, some of the Clarence Clemons interview is posted there.

In October I attended some final concerts at the Spectrum before they tear it down. I saw Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band twice, a Philadelphia show featuring The Hooters, Todd Rundgren and Hall & Oates, and then on October 31st, the last show there - that was with Pearl Jam.

Inside the Spectrum in South Philadelphia for one of four Bruce Springsteen concerts.
Here I am standing outside after seeing Pearl Jam on October 31st.
I spent many an evening at this venue every decade since the seventies. Whether I was interviewing a famous rock star for a TV or radio show, or just attending as a fan, the Spectrum holds many memories for me, as it does for multitudes of Philadelphians.
Here I am in the Press Box at the Spectrum interviewing Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull around 1980 for my television show "The Rock 'n Roll Show" on KYW-TV. You can see the empty seats of the Spectrum behind us. We were talking about two hours before showtime right after his soundcheck.
I hear they are going to implode the Spectrum sometime in early 2010 and build a retail complex complete with a restaurant and hotel.
